Sammy is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in the state of California with varied experience in the energy industry including gas storage and LNG. Currently, he is a Senior Storage Field Engineer at SoCalGas. In his current position, Sammy works to ensure the safety and integrity of gas storage wells which are essential in maintaining a reliable gas grid. He believes that clean energy is the future and is excited to be a part of the work SoCalGas is doing to advance new energy infrastructure to achieve a net-zero by 2045. Prior to joining SoCalGas, Sammy’s work experience involved process engineering, risk analysis, and compliance auditing including a 38-month assignment at an LNG plant in Alaska. Sammy is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He also has a Project Management Certificate from Caltech.
Sammy enjoys surfing, hiking, and traveling with his family.
