Melanie Horton-Dirschberger is Director of Marketing at EdTec, a social enterprise that supports charter schools with business, operations, and performance services. She has experience supporting schools with day-to-day operations, marketing and communications, and advocacy. Before joining the education world, Melanie was the Head of Research for Latin America at Prudential Real Estate Investors. Earlier in her career, she spent time as an English teacher in Spain and a Fulbright scholar in Mexico, where she focused on social entrepreneurship.

Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Spanish from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY; a Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson; and a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the UCLA International Institute. She currently serves on the national Board of Directors of the Fulbright Association and is the Chair of the Advocacy Advisory Committee.

Melanie’s passions include public education reform, corporate social responsibility, Latin American culture and history, international exchange, and travel. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and cat, exploring the local food scene, and baking anything delicious
