Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson's (BGCC) mission is to offer young people a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves, dedicated adults who respect and listen to them, and outcome-based programs that empower youth to become lifelong learners. In 2021-2022, BGCC will serve over 4,000 children age 6 through 12th grade from Carson, South Los Angeles, and South Bay communities.

Programs and services fall under three priority areas:

• Academic & Career Success programs provide youth with pathways to on-time high school graduation and post-secondary education or job training and a career they are passionate about. We provide supportive staff, educational stability, and opportunities that help youth face educational challenges.

• Character & Leadership programs support youth in developing strong character while taking actions that make a difference in their communities. We ensure youth develop leadership skills and have opportunities to become responsible, caring citizens and community members. Our programs also include social emotional wellness and cultural competence components.

• Healthy Lifestyles programs develop the capacity of young people to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own wellbeing, help them set personal goals, and live as self-sufficient adults. Youth take part in sports, experience healthy food options, and work with mentors to express and understand themselves resulting in social, emotional, and physical well-being.
