Meet Our Visionaries Honoree: Darya Allen-Attar

Join us on October 13th in celebrating Darya Allen-Attar, one of our three 2021 Visionaries Awards honorees.

Darya is the CEO & Co-Founder of Women Founders Network (WFN), a virtual accelerator whose goal is to connect women founders not only with the required capital but also with the resources, connections, mentorship and sponsorship they need to grow scalable, successful businesses. Since 2013, WFN and its members have awarded and invested over $1.5M in cash and services to women founders and alumni have raised over $100M in funding.

“I am grateful and honored to be recognized for my civic and professional leadership by the Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN). Like so many of the members of our community, I have the great privilege of doing work that I love and am passionate about; both for my work in Impact Investing at Morgan Stanley and my giving back project Women Founders Network.
We need leaders and followers, all of us, to focus on inspired civic action, community collaboration and solutions that can have a profound and lasting impact on our region, state and nation.
Receiving this award from an organization such as SCLN which is committed to fostering a more dynamic, prosperous region and state led by informed, collaborative and diverse leaders is a particular honor. I admire the contribution to our community of the business, nonprofit and political leaders who have been touched by the SCLN programs.
I am thrilled to be honored this year along with Michael A. Lawson, President and CEO of Los Angeles Urban League and Keisha Nix of the Lakers Youth Foundation, and also to join past honorees such as Congress members Karen Bass and Pete Aguilar, Alta Med Health Services Founders Cástulo and Zoila de la Rocha, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation CEO Nichol Whiteman, businesswoman and former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Maria Contreras-Sweet and Magic and Cookie Johnson.”

We are happy to honor Darya for connecting women founders with the required capital, resources, connections, mentorship, and sponsorship needed to grow successful and scalable businesses, and for educating women and girls on entrepreneurship.

Join us at Visionaries Awards on October 13th, where you will hear from Darya and our other honorees about their leadership journeys, and connect with SCLN alumni and partners. By attending the Visionaries Awards, you are helping to advance SCLN’s mission and contributing to scholarships for under-represented emerging leaders. You’ll make a difference and help leaders gain the skills, knowledge, and network they need to be the kind of civic professionals who drive change in their communities.
