SCLN is expanding its reach beyond Southern California to develop a new generation of stewards of California's future.

Southern California is home to one of America's largest, fastest growing and most diverse populations; has the largest port complex - a cornerstone of major global goods movement; the largest stake in natural resource solutions; the largest consumer market for the Central Valley's agriculture products; and a thriving creative economy that continues to define Southern California innovation.

Despite these traits, Southern California's geographic distance has helped to contribute to its disconnected civic engagement at a statewide level on issues of mutual importance such as governance, fiscal issues, transportation and natural resource matters.

The California Connections Fellowship facilitates that statewide civic engagement and building of new relationships. Now, more than ever before, Southern California leaders have an opportunity to connect on a statewide level and propel California in a positive direction through new and innovative partnerships.

California Connections is a first-of-its-kind statewide, issues-based, experiential learning leadership development program for both men and women in California. Across five 21/2 day seminars beginning in November 2013, Fellows will engage with regional and statewide leaders on cross-cutting themes of innovation on job creation, science and technology, and social services. A full list of issues and regions where Fellows will travel are below.
